How It Works

 Step 1: Sign Up Online

The first step is to schedule a study visit online. Study visits can be scheduled at a UCSD COVID testing and vaccination location through UCSD MyChart.

NOTE: You must be employed by UC San Diego or a UC San Diego student to participate.


Step 2: Pre-Visit Survey

After signing up and prior to your study visit, we ask that you complete an online survey to collect information about who you are and your attitudes and behaviors regarding COVID-19 risk. The survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete.


Step 3: The Test

All study visits take place at an on-campus test or vaccination site. At the study visit, we will collect a nasal swab and a fingerstick blood sample. Healthcare staff at the site will show you how to collect your own sample and watch you collect it. The study visit should take about 10 minutes.

Participation in this research project will not impact your ability to receive separately scheduled COVID testing or COVID vaccination, or any other treatment you have scheduled.


Step 4: Follow-Up Surveys

30 and 90 days after your study visit, you will be asked to complete an online survey to collect information about your attitudes and behaviors regarding COVID-19 risk.
